Czech style Vegetable salads
Classic Czech cuisine is familiar with salads as smaller, served in bowls and intended as a side dish to the main course. They are prepared from fresh and also canned vegetables. The most popular salads are:
Cucumber salad – made from fresh grated cucumber, again with onion
Lettuce salad – with a simple sweet and sour dressing
Cabbage salad with horseradish – frequently with added onion and apple
Sauerkraut salad – with caraway seeds and a little dill, frequently with added apple
Carrot salad – with apple and lemon juice
Tomato and onion salad – with vinegar dressing
